On May 15 and 16, we opened the doors to the future South Side Growth Campus on Edmund Street and you all came through.
Neighbors and community members packed both open house events, and what you brought with you meant everything: real talk, big ideas, and genuine care about what this space can become. Thank you.
Seriously. To everyone who stopped by, walked the building, and took the time to share what’s on your mind, we heard you and your voices are already shaping what comes next. We know people are eager to see things move, and we want to be upfront about where things stand. Right now, we are going through all of the feedback we collected and actively planning more opportunities to keep the conversation going. This is a listening phase, and we’re not rushing past it—getting this right matters!
While that work continues, in the coming months we’ll be getting started on some of the cosmetic updates to the building, so you’ll start to see things taking shape. Want to stay in the loop? Follow us on Facebook and Instagram and check our website for updates and information about upcoming engagement opportunities.
And if you didn’t make it to an open house but have ideas to share, it’s not too late. Fill out the Community Needs and Engagement Survey and let us know what this neighborhood needs most. Thank you for showing up, for speaking up, and for trusting us.
With gratitude and shared purpose,
Deka
